Not all wasps are yellow jackets out to get you and your picnic spread. Parasitic wasps, like this Ichneuman, search of aphids or other garden bad boys. Some are as tiny as aphids, and most won't even bite or sting people (their sting is reserved for prey.) Beneficial wasps also feed on nectar, pollen, and sap, and not only drink water but in some cases mix it with mud to make their nests.
