Hip Holiday Wreath
Step-by-step instruction for creating your own rectangular wreath. It only looks difficult to make.

photography: Robbie Caponetto

Step No. 1: Purchase a sturdy square picture frame (any size will do) and remove the glass and backing, leaving only the frame.

Step No. 2: Measure the width of the frame and cut small rectangular blocks from floral oasis to fit on top of the frame. The pieces must be no wider than the frame, but be at least 1 inch high in order to hold the berries.

Step No. 3: With floral tape, secure the oasis pieces to the frame. We wrapped plenty of tape around the oasis and frame. The tape and foam will be hidden by greenery and berries, so appearance isn't important.

Step No. 4: Wet the oasis frame by turning it face down in a sinkful of water and letting it soak for 5 minutes.

Step No. 5: Stick galax leaves along the outside and inside of the frame to create a border.

Step No. 6: Finally, add clusters of green hypericum berries (found at any wholesale florist) to cover the oasis.
